Advice On Cleaning Your Golf Club

You may not realize it but a dirty golf club can cost you significant strokes in the golf course.  Many golfers don’t really put importance on cleaning their golf club.  Clogged grooves can result in the ball planning up instead of rolling which reduces back-spin for distance and control.

Accumulated sweat and oil on the grip forms a slippery layer that can make you lose control of your golf club during a swing.  Regularly cleaning your golf club makes a big difference.  A dirty golf club can cost you 3 or 4 extra rounds of strokes.

Cleaning your golf club will only take you a couple of minutes and should be a regular part of your routine as a golfer.  Just fill up a five gallon bucket with soapy water using regular dishwashing soap.  Let the golf clubs soak in them for five to ten minutes with the clubhead down.

Clean the club grooves, the entire surface of the clubhead and the grip with a soft plastic bristled brush.  Make sure not to immerse the grip into the water.  Rinse the golf club with a hose and let it dry.  Clean your golf clubs at night before every round and after every trip to the driving range as well.
